Anamosa’s ‘Ridiculous Days’ returns this weekend with food, fun, and festivities

Downtown Anamosa will transform into a hub of small-town fun and quirky competitions July 4-5 as the Anamosa Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Ridiculous Days celebration.

The two-day event features a lineup of activities designed to bring the community together and draw visitors to the area. From hot dog eating contests to vintage car displays, organizers promise entertainment for all ages.

Festivities kick off Friday, July 4, with a hot dog eating contest at 4:30 p.m. on Huber Street. Space is limited, and participants are encouraged to register early.

On Saturday, July 5, the Car, Truck, and Bike Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Anamosa. Early registrants will receive a free dash plaque.

That morning, Revival Lounge will host a community breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m., offering visitors a hearty start to the day.

Las Brasas will host a costume contest at noon, where participants are invited to dress in their most outrageous attire. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Also, binSpire will be hosting a Messy Play event.

Throughout the weekend, downtown businesses will offer special promotions and sales as part of the celebration.
